LIBio, Nancy Université INPL, 2, avenue de la Fôret-de-Haye, BP 172, 54505 Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy, France Abstract: The methods of oil aqueous extraction process (AEP) assisted by enzymes are, over the last 50 years, an alternative designed to replace traditional methods of extraction using organic solvents. To extract the oil using an AEP, the use of specific enzymes, able to hydrolyze some or all components of seeds, can significantly increase the yields of extraction. Hydrolyzing the different constituents of cell walls (cellulose, hemicellulose, pectins, proteins, etc.), enzymes are able to enhance the liberation of the oil. A number of physico-chemical parameters must also be considered for the better expression of the enzymatic mixture, while maintaining the quality of oils and meals. This article presents the various factors influencing the release of oil in aqueous media and the main results obtained by this process on various substrates.

Application of the Response Surface Methodology for the Optimization of the Aqueous Enzymatic Extraction of Pistacia Khinjuk Oil

ABSTRACT: Aqueous enzymatic extraction of oil from pistacia khinjuk was performed using cellulase. The central composite design was used to optimize the parameters that are significant to the process. The influence of three regressors on the percentage of oil recovery from seed was evaluated using second-order polynomial multiple regression model. Analysis of variance showed a high coefficient ...

Extractive Properties of Tri-n-octylphosphine Oxide Towards Thorium (IV) and Europium (III) Ions in Aqueous Nitrate Media

Phosphoryl containing ligand tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO) in dichloromethane has been used as an extracting agent for tetravalent thorium and trivalent europium ions from their 1 M sodium nitrates. The equilibrium data reveal that both ions are extracted as the complexes at 1:3 metal/ligand ratio. The values of conditional extraction equilibrium constant (Kex) show the superior extract...

Extraction of Ni and Co via D2EHPA in the Presence of Acetate Ion

The effect of acetate ion introduced to aqueous solutions was investigated for the extraction/separation of Ni and Co from a dilute sulfate media. The separation of Co and Ni was improved by introducing acetate to aqueous media. By the use of the slope analysis method, the stoichiometric coefficient of the extractant was found to be 4 for cobalt and 3.5 or 4 for nickel depending on the aceta...

Aqueous enzyme assisted oil extraction from oilseeds and emulsion de-emulsifying

14 Regulatory, safety, and environmental issues have prompted the development of aqueous 15 enzymatic extraction (AEE) for extracting components from oil-bearing materials. The 16 emulsion resulting from AEE requires de-emulsification to separate the oil; when enzymes 17 are used for this purpose, the method is known as aqueous enzymatic emulsion de18 emulsification (AEED). In general, enzyme a...

Influence of Three Morus Species Extracts on ?-Amylase Activity

Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common endocrine diseases and its type II is the major form of diabetes, accounting for 90% of cases worldwide. The inhibition of carbohydrate hydrolyzing enzymes such as ?-amylase can be an important strategy in the control of blood glucose levels in patients with type II diabetes. In this investigation, three Morus species, M. alba, M. alba var. nigra and ...
